Anne Marie's singing voice is pitched low, like a blend of Diana Krall and Marlene Dietrich. The intimacy of her delivery and the subtle shading of her interpretation draw out, gently, the emotional wealth inherent within the Jazz, blues and Pop standards that make up her repetoire. She first appeared on Dublin's indie music scene as lead singer for the rock band "Smoked Oak". Four years at the band's microphone culminated in the release of the well-received EP "Acorn" which won plenty of air-play and notable fans in D.J.'s John Creedon and Brendan Conroy. As piano-playing songwriter and lyricist she was responsible for most of the bands material and has also shared these duties in fruitful partnerships with Conor Barry, Ken Stanley, Roy Shiels and others. Anne Marie's busy music schedule sees her also taking lead vocal duties for indie/folk guitar and vocal duo "Mocha" and for wedding band "The Afters". However, it was in her role as a jazz singer, during a support slot with Don Baker, she first met Peter Roycroft and thus was born "Schmooze".
